Next tournament December 12

Saturday, December 12 is the date of the next Santa Fe Rooks tournament. We will be playing two person match play, G/100 with 5 second delay. Registration is from 8:15 to 8:45, and the first game begins at 9:00 AM. If you plan on attending, please register in advance. (by email, phone, or to: POB 4764, SF NM 87502).

November 14 results posted

The first installment of the Santa fe Rooks winter series is officially a wrap! The results have been posted at the uschess.org website. You can access them from the "tournament results" link at the nmchess.org website or go directly to uschess.org to find them. The prize money was mailed out- congratulations again to our quad winners.

We are looking forward to the December tournament. With match play, each participant is 'almost guaranteed' the opportunity to play an opponent at the same skill level. Please let us know ahead of time if you plan to participate.

Well, folks, here's the list of entries as of today's mail. If you think you are registered and are not on the list, please contact me asap. And those of you who registered by email, please don't forget to bring your registration fee so I can get those prize monies out Monday morning!

We have entries ranging form state champion to someone playing in his second tournament.

Several people have asked about how the ratings are determined. We are using the most up to date ratings based on tournaments through last weekend. These ratings are found at the "tournament history" tab on a player's USCF webpage.

Directions: Desert Academy is located at 313 Camino Alire. It is half a mile west of St. Francis between Alameda and Agua Fria. Coming from the north, go west on Alameda to Camino Alire and make a left. Coming from the south, go west on Agua Fria to Camino Alire and make a right.

Time Control will be G/75 with a five second delay.
