Tournament news

Thanks to all who came to the NM Class tournament in Eldorado. La Tienda proved to be a great new playing site and I will try to get another tournament there soon. Maybe the Santa Fe Open in October?
Meanwhile our new season starts in May. Chad tells me that the match against Colorado is planned for May 19th. So I will try to book the library for May 12th and May 19th is the second choice if that date is unavailable.

Octos on December 17th and NM Class in March

Congrats to Julian Trujillo who won the Berserkers tourney. Thanks to all who played.
Our next event is a 3 round G/60 Octos tourney, also at the La Farge library on December 17th.
In the new year we will take a break so as not to conflict with the NM Memorial in January or the Southern Rocky Fide tourney in February, BUT we will be running the NM Class tournament on March 17th and 18th. There will be 5 rounds of G/90 with sections based on chess classes (Expert/ Master, class A,B,C,D and E and below). We have a new venue for this - in the mall at La Tienda in Eldorado. They usually run concerts there and the stage area is very well lit! More info on the flyer attached to the upcoming events info at nmchess.org
To get to the place you get on the I-25 heading out of Santa Fe towards Las Vegas. 8 miles from Santa Fe take the Clines Corners exit Rte 285. At the 2nd light turn left into Eldorado. La Tienda is the 1st on the left.
Hope to see you all there.

Julian Trujillo 1431
