Action tournament on February 7th

The much awaited Rooks Action is on.  We will play at the La Farge library in Santa Fe on the 7th February.  5 rounds at ...   10:15   11:30   1:30   2:45 and   4.    G/30;d5.  Probably in 2 sections - top and bottom halves.  Entry is $10 and cash prizes based on entries will be awarded.  To enter send your check for $10 to Santa Fe Rooks,  84 Moya Road, Santa Fe  NM 87508.... or you could just send me an email to reserve your place and then pay at the door IF you arrive promptly at 10 on the day.

Christmas Quads on December 13th

Our next tournament will be a 3 round quad with G/35;d5.  It is at the La Farge library in Santa Fe, with rounds at 10:15   11:45   and 1:30. DIRECTIONS
The library is on Llano which runs from St Michael's Drive to Siringo.  If you are coming from I-25, exit at St Frances Drive,  at the 3rd light go L on Siringo then make a R at the 2nd light onto Llano.

Santa Fe Open on September 6th

Blitz and Quick on August 16th

Our next event is on at the Southside library.  2 separate unrated tournaments.  You can play even if your uscf has expired.  13 games and you will not lose any rating points.  Blitz in the morning - 4 double rounds G/5 at 10:15   10:45   11:15  and 11:45. We will use the updated uscf blitz rules.  After a lunch break we will play 5 rounds G/15 +3 secs delay.  Rounds at   1:30   2:15   3   3:45   and 4:15.  Cash prizes for the best combined scores.  If there are 18 + entries we will divide  players  into 2 equal sections.  To enter send your check for $10    to Santa Fe Rooks,  84 Moya Road,  Santa Fe  NM  87508  or you could just email me to reserve your place and then pay at the door  IF you get there a bit before 10.

Octos on July 19th

Free chess class at La Farge library on Tuesday 24th June

The Final Four on June 7th

Our next tournament will be at the La Farge library in Santa Fe on June 7th.    In the final 4, players are placed in groups of 4 by rating and the 1st round is a semi final using Swiss pairings.  Winners move on to the final.  If the 1st round game is drawn then the player who had black moves on to the final.  Losing semi - finalists play each other for 3rd place.  2 rounds at 10:15  and 2.  G/90 + 5 secs delay.  Entry is $10  and the winner or each section wins $30. Directions:
The library is on Llano Street, between St Michael's Drive and Siringo.  From ABQ take I 25 and get off at the St Francis exit.  At the 3rd light go  L onto Siringo then R at the 2nd light onto Llano.
